OUR HEALTH GUARANTEE

We do not believe that any puppy is replaceable each one is a unique and irreplaceable soul, and we understand the depth of the bond that forms between a family and their Leonberger. However, we also believe that in the most difficult and unexpected of circumstances, the pain of loss can sometimes be eased by the companionship of a new furry family member.

In the unlikely event that a puppy passes away within the first year from the date of birth as a direct result of a hereditary condition, or if the puppy is diagnosed with a congenital or hereditary disorder within two years of birth that significantly and adversely affects their quality of life and health, we will replace the puppy with another of comparable value at absolutely no cost to you. The cause of illness or death must be confirmed and documented in writing by a licensed, accredited veterinarian.

In the event that a puppy passes away due to a hereditary condition after the first year but within two years of birth, we will provide a credit equivalent to 70% of the original purchase price toward the acquisition of a replacement Leonberger puppy of equal value. Again, the cause of death must be formally confirmed by a licensed veterinarian. We stand fully behind the health and integrity of every puppy we produce, and this guarantee is our commitment to you that we take that responsibility with the utmost seriousness.

LIFE TIME SUPPORT

At Majestic Leonbergers, we take enormous pride in the fact that our relationship with you does not end the moment you bring your puppy home. That is only the beginning. As passionate, experienced, and responsible Leonberger breeders, we pour our hearts into every puppy we raise, and we genuinely want nothing more than for each and every one of them to live a long, healthy, and deeply loved life in their new family.

We understand, however, that certain things are beyond anyone’s control. A puppy’s long-term health and wellbeing is influenced by many factors including genetics, diet and nutrition, exercise, environment, and overall daily care. Should anything ever go wrong, we will always do our very best to help and support you, often even in situations that fall outside the scope of our formal guarantee. While we cannot guarantee that your Leonberger will never experience a health challenge throughout their life, we can guarantee with absolute certainty that we will always be here for you and that we will do everything in our power to ensure your new companion has the strongest, healthiest possible foundation from day one.

Our door is always open. Whether it is a question about nutrition, grooming, training, behaviour, or health we are available to you for the lifetime of your dog, because that is what being a responsible and caring breeder truly means to us.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Nothing brings us greater joy than knowing we have placed a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted Leonberger puppy into a loving family. In order to uphold our health guarantee and ensure the very best outcome for your puppy, we do ask that you meet the following requirements on your end:

  • Veterinary Examination: Please send us a copy of your puppy’s initial veterinary examination report including all clinical records within 2 business days of receiving your puppy. The examination must be conducted by a licensed and accredited veterinarian.
  • Vaccinations: Your puppy will arrive with all age-appropriate vaccinations fully up to date. Please do not administer any additional vaccinations within the first 10 days of receiving your puppy, as this can interfere with their immune response.
  • Ongoing Healthcare: The continued health, wellbeing, and development of your Leonberger is in your hands. This includes maintaining all recommended vaccination schedules, regular veterinary check-ups, and appropriate daily care for a giant breed dog.
  • Deworming & Parasite Control: While we deworm and vaccinate every puppy thoroughly up until their departure date, we ask that you continue appropriate deworming treatments and routine health checks from 9 weeks of age onward, or as directed by your veterinarian.

Your puppy deserves the very best, and meeting these requirements ensures that both you and your puppy are fully protected and cared for from the very beginning.

EXCEPTIONS TO OUR GUARANTEE

We want to be fully transparent about the scope and limitations of our health guarantee so that there are no misunderstandings. Please note the following exceptions:

  • We cannot guarantee specific temperament or personality traits, obedience levels, adult size or weight, exact coat colour or markings, or breeding capability.
  • No replacement will be issued if a Leonberger a breed known to be predisposed to joint conditions is found to be significantly overweight at the time of diagnosis, as excess weight is a direct contributing factor to hip and elbow issues and is within the owner’s control.
  • Failure to provide your puppy with timely vaccinations, routine veterinary care, or to follow the health requirements outlined above will automatically void this guarantee.
  • This guarantee does not cover any costs associated with spaying or neutering, including complications arising from undescended testicles (cryptorchidism).
  • This guarantee covers hereditary and congenital conditions only. It does not cover illnesses, injuries, or conditions caused by environmental factors, accidents, neglect, or improper care after the puppy has left our care.

We have written this guarantee with complete honesty and in the best interest of both you and your Leonberger. Our goal is always the same to ensure every puppy we place lives a healthy, happy, and deeply loved life in their forever home.
